Mathematical Biology on the Mediterranean Conference,
3rd edition, FORTH, Crete, 2022
International Summer school, August 29 - September 02
The Summer school will propose, from Monday August 29 until Friday September 02, five lectures of 4 hours each, plus one of 2 hours, by Yannis Papaharilaou, on different aspects of mathematical biology, given by lecturers specialists of their fields:
You can apply for the Summer School by June 30, 2022 by completing the Registration_Form .
The targeted audience are PhD students in mathematics and young or confirmed mathematicians.
The number of participants to the school will be limited to 35-40 (see the Deadlines for registration and fees). Participation of PhD students coming from regional universities (i.e., of the neighbouring Mediterranean region, e.g., Greek, Turkish, Israeli, etc.) is encouraged, but by no means exclusive. Support for travelling expenses may further be asked from supporting institutions such as EMS, ESMTB, or others, but cannot be taken in charge by the organising Committee.
The school lectures will be given at FORTH during the days Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday until 6 p.m. will be reserved for a excursion to archeological sites of the island and close-by beaches, or other sites of interest. Note that the celebrated Knossos archeological site is quite close to Heraklion and can easily reached by bus from the centre from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. every day in Summer, so that the free whole day excursion on Wednesday might be proposed to interested participants to some other sites of interest on the island (to be made more precise later).
